Basic Christian Community

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers.  43 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles.  44 Now all the believers were together and had everything in common.  45 So they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need.  46 And every day they devoted themselves [to meeting] together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.

Acts 2:42-47

This passage describes how the New Testament Church created home fellowship groups as the first pattern for meeting together.  We recognize that true fellowship and "building up one another" is never done effectively unless church life begins with "spiritual families."

Becoming a part of our church means becoming a part of one of our Home Fellowship Groups - that is what we call our "Basic Christian Community."  No home fellowship is independent of the rest of the Body of Christ, and is always under the guidance of our Council of Pastors.  No home fellowship “answers” to another home fellowship, but conducts its own worship and teaching in a style and flavor that suits that specific fellowship.  Our vision is to develop hundreds of home fellowships, with all of them gathering together from time to time for larger celebrations.

Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Sprit.

We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denomination as such.  Only when division in the body of Christ is caused by an over-emphasis of doctrinal differences do we take a stand for support of fellowship over denominational differences.

We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His Agape love which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

We believe that the Bible outlines a very narrow group of Essential Doctrines that clearly defines EVERY Christian.  Knowing what makes a true Christian expands one’s opportunity to fellowship with other Christians without the hindrances that non-essential doctrinal stands can create.
